Donald D. Cook was Historian of the Town of Evans from 1962 to 1976, founder and president of the Evans Historical Society, 1965-1971, and author of regular columns on local history in the Evans Journal as well as "A History of Evans," published in 1972. A prominent local historian, Roy Nagle was born in Buffalo, New York on July 4, 1897 and held many vocations throughout his life. As a teenager, he began working at the Buffalo Courier newspaper, and eventually became a reporter and drama critic.
